Privacy Policy

MiyoLash is a lash education and product review site. This page explains what happens to your information when you visit.

What we collect directly

Nothing. This site has no contact form, no comments, no account sign-up, and no newsletter box. We do not ask you for your name, your email address, or any other personal detail.

Analytics is separate and is covered below. It counts visits. It does not ask you for anything and it cannot tell us who you are.

If you email us at the address on our contact page, we receive whatever you choose to put in that email. We use it to reply to you and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Server logs

This site is hosted on DreamHost shared hosting. Like every web server, it keeps standard access logs. Those logs record your IP address, the page you requested, the time, your browser type, and the page that referred you. DreamHost keeps these logs as part of running the server. We use them only to diagnose problems and to spot abuse.

Third parties that see your visit

Three outside services are involved when you load a page here. Our typefaces are served from this site, so loading them sends nothing to anyone else.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which guides people read. It also records clicks on affiliate links, so we can see which product recommendations people find useful. We use it to decide what to write next. We do not use it for advertising, we have not connected it to Google Ads, and we do not sell or share what it collects.

Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<container>. They hold a randomly generated ID that lets Google tell one browser apart from another. They last up to two years. Google also receives your IP address as part of the request, and uses it to work out an approximate location. We cannot see your IP address in our reports and we cannot identify you personally from them.

Your choice about analytics

If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we ask first. A banner appears on your first visit with an Accept button and a Decline button. Nothing is loaded from Google until you choose. If you decline, no analytics script is ever requested and no analytics cookie is ever set. The site works exactly the same either way.

We work out where you are from your browser's timezone setting. We do not look up your IP address to do it. If the timezone is unclear we ask for consent anyway.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. That link appears for visitors we ask consent from.

Outside those regions, analytics runs by default, which is what the law in those places expects. You can still opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Cookies

Apart from the analytics cookies above, MiyoLash sets nothing of its own. Third parties can still set cookies. A YouTube embed is the main case, and clicking an affiliate link will set cookies on the site you land on.

We also store one small value in your browser called ml_consent. It records whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Affiliate links

MiyoLash is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking one. It costs you nothing extra.

Our affiliate links are routed through a link shortener that redirects you to the correct regional Amazon store. When you click one, the destination store can set a cookie to credit the referral. That cookie belongs to them, not to us. We never see your payment details, your address, or what you ultimately bought.

Being paid a commission does not change what we recommend. Read more on our about page.

Your rights

We hold very little about you. We have no account for you, no mailing list entry, and no record you filled in. What exists is the analytics data described above, which is tied to a random browser ID rather than to your name, and any email you chose to send us.

If you emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it. For analytics, the fastest route is your own browser: decline the banner, use the Cookie settings link, or clear your cookies, and the ID linking your visits is gone. You can also ask us and we will delete what we can identify.

If you are in the UK, the EU, or a region with similar rules, you have the right to ask what data we hold, request a copy, request deletion, and complain to your data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We update this page when the site changes. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.

MiyoLash publishes lash education, technique guides, and product reviews. Everything here is general information. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for training from a qualified instructor or for the guidance of a licensed professional.

Use at your own risk

Lash extension work involves adhesives and tools used close to the eye. Applying products or following techniques described here is your own decision and your own responsibility. Always patch test adhesives. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for any product you use. Check the licensing rules where you live before working on clients.

We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that results from acting on information found on this site.

Accuracy

We work to keep our guides and reviews correct and current. We cannot guarantee it. Prices, availability, product formulations, and third-party links change without notice. Anything on this site is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind.

Products we link to

We do not manufacture, sell, ship, or support any product linked from this site. Purchases are between you and the retailer. Returns, refunds, warranty claims, and shipping problems are handled by that retailer under their own terms.

Our content

The writing, photography, and design on MiyoLash belong to us and are protected by copyright. You may quote short passages with credit and a link back. You may not republish whole articles, or reproduce our work for commercial use, without written permission.

We link to outside sites we think are useful. We do not control them and we are not responsible for their content, their products, or their privacy practices.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
